Crow undergoes breast cancer surgery; postpones tour.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Monday Feb.27.2006] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow has been diagnosed with breast cancer, it was announced on Friday.
In a statement posted on her web site, Crow said, "Approximately 1 in 7 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and more than 2 million American are living with breast cancer today. I am joining the more than 200,000 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year."
On Wednesday, February 22nd, Crow underwent successful minimally invasive surgery for breast cancer in Los Angeles. Her doctors say her prognosis is excellent, and Crow will receive radiation treatment as a precaution.
Due to Crow's condition and the prescribed treatment, she is forced to postpone her North American tour scheduled for March and April. Crow hopes to reschedule as much of the tour as reasonably possible and more details will be given shortly.
