Recording Academy To Honor Green Day
Green Day to receive San Francisco chapter's Honors Award.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA  [Friday Feb.24.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- After winning three Grammys and countless other awards, Green Day is about to be honored again.

Next month, the Bay area punk trio will receive the Honors Award from the San Francisco chapter of the Recording Academy. The award goes to "outstanding individuals whose work embodies excellence and integrity and who have improved the environment for the creative community."

Along with Green Day, others being honored this year include jazz musicians Dave Brubeck and George Duke and the San Francisco Blues Festival.

Green Day, Brubeck and Duke will be presented with the Recording Academy Honors Award on March 19th, during a gala held at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco's Union Square.
