Green Day, James Blunt, Kanye West honored at Brit Awards.
LONDON, UK [Tuesday Feb.21.2006] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Green Day, James Blunt, and Kanye West were among the winners at last week's Brit Awards ceremony in London.
Green Day scooped up awards for Best International Group and Best International Album for "American Idiot," and former British Army captain-turned-singer James Blunt won Best British Male and Best Pop Act for his debut release, "Back to Bedlam."
Best International Male went to Kanye West, who also performed at the Brit Awards. Other winners included the Kaiser Chiefs, Coldplay, Jack Johnson and Madonna.
Singer-songwriter Paul Weller received the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award in recognition of his successful career as a solo artist and as leader of the Style Council and influential rock trio The Jam.
The Brit Awards show will be televised in the US on April 15th on BBC America. Check your local listings for showtimes and additional information.
