No Kelly Clarkson Songs On American Idol
Clarkson not licensing her music to the show or anyone else.

by Krista Desens

Kelly Clarkson
LOS ANGELES, CA  [Thursday Jan.19.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- You won't be hearing any Kelly Clarkson songs on "American Idol."

The singer doesn't want her music to be used on the show.

Though at first glance, it might seem like Clarkson's turning her back on "American Idol," but this is not the case Sony BMG spokesman Roger Widynowski told the Associated Press. Some artists -- like the Beatles, for example -- keep tight control over how their music is used.

So it's not just "American Idol" that can't use Clarkson's songs. No one else can license her music, either.

American Idol judge Simon Cowell isn't happy about Clarkson's position. He feels she's "ignoring the audience" that propelled her into the limelight.
