LOS ANGELES, CA  [Friday Jan.13.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- The nominations are in for the 2006 NAACP Image Awards, and Mariah Carey, Kanye West and Alicia Keys lead the music category with four nods a piece.

Carey, West and Keys earned nominations for Outstanding Album, Song and Video. West also scored a nomination for Outstanding Male Artist, while Carey and Keys each received a nod for Outstanding Female Artist.

Contenders for the Outstanding New Artist award include Bobby Valentino, Chris Brown, Keyshia Cole, Leela James and Omarion.

The Black Eyed Peas and Destiny's Child are up for Outstanding Duo or Group.

Other Image Awards nominees include Common, Mary J. Blige, India.Arie, Floetry and Jamie Foxx.

The NAACP Image Awards celebrate the achievements and performances of people of color in literature, music, television and film. During this year's event -- which airs March 3rd on FOX -- Carlos Santana will be honored and inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.
