Gorillaz
LONDON, UK  [Thursday Jan.5.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Could 2006 be the year of the Gorillaz?

Recently, the animated alt-rockers scored five nominations for the prestigious Grammy Awards. The nominations include Record of the Year, Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, and Best Short Form Music Video for their smash hit "Feel Good Inc.," recorded with De La Soul.

The Gorillaz also earned a nod for Best Urban Alternative Performance for the song "Dirty Harry." And Danger Mouse, who produced the band's album "Demon Days," is up for the Producer of the Year award. Grammy winners will be announced during a televised ceremony on February 8th.

Reacting to the Grammy news, guitarist Noodle said in a statement, "On behalf of all of Gorillaz I'd like to say we're all really pleased to hear this...De La Soul gave us such a great rap for 'Feelgood Inc' so its great that we're nominated for the Best Pop Collaboration." She added, "But I'm really excited to hear about all of these nominations. It's a real honor."
