TOKYO, JAPAN  [Monday Dec.19.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Ashlee Simpson was taken to the hospital last Friday, after cutting short her appearance for MTV Japan and collapsing.

MTV.com reports that Simpson was headlining MTV Japan's Cool Christmas concert in Pacifico Yokohama, when she walked offstage during her second song. When she returned to the stage, she apologized and told the audience she wasn't feeling.

Simpson was later taken by ambulance to the hospital after she collapsed in an elevator. On Friday, December 16th, her father and manager Joe Simpson told MTV that Ashlee was "still in the hospital, on an IV."

No further details on Simpson's condition were released at press time.

Simpson was in Asia to promote her latest album "I Am Me." Her appearance at tonight's Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas has been canceled.
