LOS ANGELES, CA  [Tuesday Nov.29.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Singers and reality TV's "Newlyweds" stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have called it quits.

The couple released a joint statement to US Weekly last Wednesday confirming the end of the marriage.

"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," Simpson and Lachey said in the statement. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Simpson, who recently appeared in the movie "Dukes of Hazzard," and 98 Degrees singer Lachey wed in October 2002 during a ceremony in Austin, Texas. Lachey is currently developing a sitcom for the WB Network.
