Coldplay, 50 Cent earn DEMX nods for best use of technology.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Thursday Nov.17.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Coldplay and 50 Cent are in the running this year for a Digital Entertainment & Media Award (DEMX).
The DEMX Awards honor innovation and achievement in digital entertainment, covering everything from music and film to advertising and video.
Coldplay and 50 Cent each earned a DEMX nomination for Best Use of Technology by an Artist. Earlier this year, Coldplay teamed with Cingular to debut the new song "Speed of Sound" as a ringtone before the track hit radio and prior to the band releasing its album "X&Y."
Rapper 50 Cent and Vivendi Universal Games joined together to create the video game "Bulletproof."
Other artists nominated in this category include Prince and the NPG Music Club and the King of Crunk Lil' Jon.
Scoring nominations for Music DVD of the Year were Sir Paul McCartney, Live 8, Chick Corea and Cream.
The nominees for Best Downloadable or Subscription Music Service include Apple iTunes, Napster, RealNetworks' Rhapsody 25 and Yahoo! Music Unlimited.
DEMX winners will be announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on December 1st.
