LISBON, PORTUGAL  [Friday Oct.28.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Taking a cue from Star Wars, the Gorillaz will perform as 3D holograms at the 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) next month.

Noodle, Murdoc, 2D and Russel will be projected onto the stage using the latest in technology. They'll be joined by rappers De La Soul for a live performance, reports the UK branch of MTV.com.

Gorillaz could potentially win five EMA awards at the November 3rd ceremonies to be held in Lisbon, Portugal. The animated group's hit single "Feel Good, Inc." is up for Best Video and Best Song, and the Gorillaz are also nominated for Best Pop Act, Best Group, and Best UK & Ireland Act.

Along with the Gorillaz, other artists scheduled to perform at the 2005 EMAs include Akon, Coldplay, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Madonna, Robbie Williams, Pussycat Dolls and The Black Eyed Peas.
