Coldplay, Gorillaz, James Blunt win Digital Music Awards.
LONDON, UK [Monday Oct.24.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Coldplay was the big winner at the 2005 BT Digital Music Awards held in London last week.
The "Speed Of Sound" band took home awards in three categories including Best Digital Campaign for the band's album "X&Y" and the People's Choice Award for best official web site. Coldplay.com was also voted the Best Digital Music Community.
The Gorillaz scooped up the biggest award of the night, winning the Artist of the Year trophy. The cartoon band also walked away with the Best Dance Artist prize.
Newcomer James Blunt won for Best Pop Artist, Brit-pop band Stereophonics received the Best Rock Artist award, and Goldie Lookin' Chain was named Best Urban Artist.
Other artists who earned a DMA this year include U2, Natasha Bedingfield, Robbie Williams, The Magic Numbers, and Depeche Mode.
The annual BT Digital Music Awards for UK-signed artists recognizes cutting-edge music entertainment delivered through the latest digital technology. Fans vote online for 13 of the 18 DMA award categories.
