U2, Foo Fighters, Alison Krauss to A Night for Johnny Cash.
HOLLYWOOD, CA [Monday Oct.24.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Next month, stars from the music world will gather for an all-star tribute to the legendary Johnny Cash.
U2, Foo Fighters and Alison Krauss are among the artists scheduled to perform at "I Walk the Line: A Night for Johnny Cash." The event will also feature performances from Jerry Lee Lewis, Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow, Shooter Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yoakam, and Kid Rock, reports MTV.com.
"I Walk the Line: A Night For Johnny Cash" is scheduled to air November 16th at 8 pm on CBS. The show, which tapes at Hollywood's Pantages Theater, will include video clips from Johnny Cash's career and life, as well as some film footage from the forthcoming "Walk The Line," about Cash's life. The film's stars, Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, will take part in the "Night For Johnny Cash" and introduce the performers.
The movie "Walk the Line" opens in theaters November 18th.
