British singer-songwriter ready to conquer America.
LONDON, UK [Friday Oct.21.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- James Blunt is ready to take on America.
The British singer-songwriter has already found fame in his homeland of the United Kingdom, and now he's out to win some US fans with his just-released debut "Back To Bedlam."
In fact, starting next week you can catch James Blunt on tour with Jason Mraz. He'll be opening for Mraz on select dates throughout October and November, including shows in Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Eugene and Seattle. Blunt is also scheduled to play five solo shows on the East Coast in Montreal, New York, Philadelphia and Boston.
James Blunt is not your average singer-songwriter. For one thing, he's a former army officer who served as a peacekeeper in Kosovo. He also grew up in a military family, where music was not a priority. In fact, the Blunts didn't have a CD player in the house and only owned three CDs.
James began playing guitar when he was 14-years-old, when he picked up a friend's guitar and started strumming along to Nirvana's "Nevermind." Not long after that, James wrote his first song.
