LOS ANGELES, CA  [Monday Oct.3.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Mariah Carey and Rob Thomas are set to perform at the 2005 American Music Awards.

Along with Carey and Thomas, country star Kenny Chesney is also confirmed to play the 33rd annual AMA show, reports MTV.com.

Cedric the Entertainer will host the show, which takes place at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium on November 22nd.

Carey could potentially take home four AMAs, including Best Pop Album and Best R&B Album for "The Emancipation of Mimi." She's also up for Best Female Artist in the Pop/Rock and R&B categories.

Thomas was nominated for Best Male Artist in the Pop/Rock category, while Chesney earned nods for Favorite Country Male Artist,

Nominees for the AMAs are selected based on record sales. The winners will be chosen in a survey of around 20,000 listeners.

The American Music Awards airs live on November 22nd at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT on ABC.
