Foo Fighters, Weezer to hold food drive at Sept. 30 show.
DENVER, CO [Thursday Sep.29.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Foo Fighters and Weezer are asking fans attending the bands' Denver show this Friday to bring along some non-perishable food items to distribute to Hurricane Katrina victims.
The Foo Fighters and Weezer are working with the Colorado non-profit organization Conscious Alliance to hold the food drive at the September 30th show at Denver's Pepsi Center.
Fans can bring non-perishable food items to the gig, such as tuna, peanut butter, soup, pasta, ham, chili, baked beans, vegetables and fruit. Other items needed in bulk are granola bars, meal-replacement beverages, baby items -- including diapers, formula, food and bottles -- and personal hygiene items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo and soap.
Fans who donate five non-perishable food items or $5 will be entered into a raffle to win one of five Foo Fighters posters autographed by the band. Donation bins will be located outside of each entrance to the Pepsi Center from 5 pm until one half hour into the show.
All food donations benefit the
Food Bank of the Rockies hurricane relief project.
