Storm Forces Coldplay To Cancel Show
Coldplay cancels Houston show due to Hurricane Rita.

by Krista Desens

Coldplay
HOUSTON, TX  [Tuesday Sep.27.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Coldplay canceled its Houston show last Saturday as Hurricane Rita threatened the area.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion -- located in Woodlands, Texas -- canceled all events booked for the weekend, including Coldplay's September 24th show, and concerts by Oasis and Journey. According to a statement on the venue's web site, canceling the shows was "in the best interest and safety of the fans, artists and staff in the face of Hurricane Rita."

It's not yet known if Coldplay's Houston show will be rescheduled. More information will be announced at the band's web site as soon as it becomes available.

In the meantime, fans with tickets to the Houston show are advised to hang onto them. Further news will be issued soon at www.Coldplay.com regarding tickets and refunds.
