Jack Johnson donates proceeds from shows to relief efforts.
CHARLESTON, SC [Tuesday Sep.20.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Singer-songwriter Jack Johnson has been active in hurricane relief efforts by donating proceeds from his recent shows to the American Red Cross.
Johnson donated $5,000 from each of his shows between August 31st and September 17th to the American Red Cross for a total donation of $65,000 to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
The American Red Cross was also present at all of Johnson's shows during that time to accept donations from fans. According to Johnson's official web site at
www.JackJohnson.com, fans at the Charleston, South Carolina show on September 4th raised over $9,000 for the Red Cross.
Johnson also auctioned off five pairs of tickets for some of his shows and donated the proceeds to the American Red Cross. The auctioned tickets for the Atlanta concert raised $6,881.
