A post at BritneySpears.com announces the happy news, "It's a boy! We are ecstatic to announce the birth of our son! Everyone is happy, healthy and doing wonderful. Thank you all for your love and well wishes!! Love, Britney & Kevin."

Spears and her husband Kevin Federline have not yet announced the baby's name.

On Thursday (September 15th), People Magazine announced that 23-year-old Britney had a caesarian section at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, California and that Federline, who is 27-years-old, was at her side in the delivery room.

The baby is Spears' first child and Federline's third. He also is the father of a two-year-old daughter and one-year-old son with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson.
