Big Apple Hosts Relief Concerts
NYC rallies for New Orleans in two benefit shows Sept. 20.

NEW YORK, NY  [Thursday Sep.15.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Next week in New York City, artists will come together in two massive shows of support for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

"From the Big Apple to the Big Easy: NYC's Concerts For the Gulf Coast" takes place on Tuesday, September 20th, in two of Manhattan's landmark venues -- Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall. The proceeds from the two concerts support the longterm relief and rebuilding efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

The simultaneous benefit concerts will each feature a number of New Orleans' musical legends, along with some of the biggest names in music.

Among the artists scheduled to perform at the Madison Square Garden show are Jimmy Buffett, Elvis Costello, John Fogerty, Elton John, Diana Krall, Lenny Kravitz, Dave Matthews, Bette Midler, Simon & Garfunkel, Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews, Dave Bartholomew, Ry Cooder, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Fats Domino, Clarence "Fogman" Henry, The Meters, The Neville Brothers, The Rebirth Brass Band, Kermit Ruffins, Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint and Buckwheat Zydeco.

Artists performing at the Radio City Music Hall show include Trey Anastasio, Galactic with the Wild Magnolias Mardi Gras Indians, Ray Lamontagne, John Mayer Trio, Dave Matthews, The Meters, the Neville Brothers, Joss Stone, and Tom Waits.

Tickets for the Madison Square Garden show are on sale now. Tickets for the Radio City Music Hall concert go on sale today, September 15th, at 10:00 am (ET). All tickets will be available through Ticketmaster.
