Pierre Bouvier Struck By Bottle At Show
Simple Plan ends set after singer hit by bottle at festival.

by Krista Desens

Simple Plan
STRATFORD, ON  [Monday Sep.12.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Simple Plan singer Pierre Bouvier was struck in the face by a bottle during the band's set at the Ovation Music Festival last Friday.

Canada's CBC News reports that about 45 minutes into the band's performance at the Stratford, Ontario festival, Bouvier was hit by a bottle thrown by someone from the audience. The bottle struck Bouvier below his eye, while the band was performing "Welcome To My Life." He had to stop singing and was taken to the hospital for stitches.

Apparently, the crowd had been throwing empty water bottles onto the stage throughout the concert. Bouvier was hit by the bottle shortly after telling the audience that it was great to be back in Canada and playing in Stratford.

Ovation Music Festival promoter Chris Parson told CBC News, "It made me a little sick to my stomach that somebody would do something that stupid. It's ridiculous."
