Through its Bama Works fund, the band recently gave $250,000 to CARE, a humanitarian organization that seeks to find lasting solutions to end poverty around the world. The money donated by Dave Matthews Band will go towards fighting poverty in some of the Sri Lankan villages that were hardest hit by the tsunami in December 2004.
"Together with CARE, we encourage our fans to join us in this long-term effort to make a serious and lasting impact in the lives of people in Sri Lanka," said Dave Matthews Band in a statement.
