NEW YORK, NY  [Friday Aug.12.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Missy Elliott and Common are among the artists set to perform at the second annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors show next month in New York.

The event pays tribute to hip-hop pioneers who transformed the genre, and this year's Hip Hop Honors features tributes to LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Notorious B.I.G., Ice T, Salt -N- Pepa, and The Film: Boyz N The Hood.

Along with Missy Elliott and Common, the show will include performances from Kanye West, Nelly, Eve, Snoop Dogg and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

The VH1 Hip Hop Honors will be hosted by Russell Simmons and Reverend Run from the pioneering hip-hop trio Run-DMC. The show airs September 26th on VH1.
