MIAMI, FL.  [Wednesday Aug.10.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- The 2005 MTV Video Music Awards continues to expand its list of performers with the just-announced additions of Ludacris and Shakira.

Ludacris' "Number One Spot" video is in the running for two VMA awards including Best Rap Video and Best Special Effects, while Shakira's clip for "La Tortura" is up for Best Female Video and Best Dance Video.

Along with Ludacris and Shakira, other previously announced VMA performers include Green Day, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, the Killers and Kanye West.

The 2005 MTV Video Music Awards airs live from Miami on August 28 at 8 pm ET/PT on MTV.
