Stefani lends backing vocals to new Institute album.
NEW YORK, NY [Friday Aug.5.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- When Gavin Rossdale needed someone to sing backup on his new band's album, who do you think he got for the job?
His wife, of course.
The former Bush frontman has formed a new band called Institute, and the hard rocking group that includes members of the band Helmet releases its debut album next month.
Rossdale is also married to Gwen Stefani and, when Institute needed a female singer to lend some backing vocals to the song "Ambulances," Rossdale immediately thought of Gwen.
"If I want to get a certain color and use a female voice," Rossdale tells RollingStone.com, "who better than her?"
Institute's "Distort Yourself" hits stores September 13th.
