Courtney Jaye's Inspirations
Jaye's lists Joni Mitchell, Indigo Girls among influences.

by Krista Desens

Courtney Jaye
LOS ANGELES, CA  [Friday Jul.22.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Singer-songwriter Courtney Jaye always knew that she wanted to sing.

"I started singing as early as I can remember and I always had a love for it," says Jaye on her official web site. "But then as I got older and developed more confidence, I really began to find my voice when I began songwriting at the age of 16."

Jaye finds inspiration in other female singer-songwriters including Ani DiFranco, Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, and the Indigo Girls. Says Jaye, "All of the power that they displayed in expressing their point of view was really inspiring to me and made me want to one day inspire others on that same level."
