PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MEXICO  [Friday Jul.15.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- The first performers have been announced for the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America.

Shakira, Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte and Simple Plan will work the stage at MTV's fourth annual Latin America VMA show, which takes place October 20 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

More artists will be added to the lineup in the coming months.

This will be the first time the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America show has taken place outside Miami. At least 24 countries in Latin America will air the television event.
