Coldplay wins over concertgoers at UK Glastonbury Festival.
GLASTONBURY, UK [Monday Jun.27.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Coldplay's appearance at the Glastonbury Festival over the weekend was deemed a triumph by concertgoers.
Last Saturday (June 25), the band headlined the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival, one of the world's largest music and performing arts events.
After thunderstorms flooded the festival grounds on Friday, fans braved the mud to see Coldplay perform a 90-minute set that included a tribute to Australian pop star Kylie Minogue who was forced to pull out of Glastonbury after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Coldplay covered Minogue's song "Can't Get You Out Of My Head."
About Coldplay's performance, one fan told the BBC, "I was expecting it to be good but it was 200 percent better than I thought." Another said singer Chris Martin was "really chilled out but not too pretentious."
Coldplay will launch a two-month North American tour on August 2 in Toronto, Canada. The band is on the road to support its third studio album "X&Y."
