Scotland To Host Live 8 Concert
Sixth Live 8 concert set for Edinburgh, Scotland.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND  [Thursday Jun.9.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- A sixth Live 8 concert will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, organizers announced earlier this week.

Dido, Annie Lennox, Travis, Snow Patrol and the Proclaimers are confirmed to play Scotland's Live 8 show on July 6, four days after the other five Live 8 shows in London, Philadelphia, Berlin, Paris and Rome.

Other artists on the Edinburgh lineup include African music star Youssou N'Dour, Damon Albarn from Blur and Gorillaz, Texas, The Thrills, The Zutons, Jamie Cullum, Daniel and Natasha Bedingfield, Embrace, Ronan Keating, and Wet Wet Wet.

At least 60,000 people are expected to attend the Edinburgh Live 8 concert at Murrayfield stadium. The anti-poverty concert takes place on the same day as the G8 summit, which is being held in Gleneagles -- an hour's drive from Edinburgh.

The free Scottish Live 8 concert also coincides with The Long Walk to Justice Rally in Edinburgh on July 6.

The Live 8 concerts are being staged to raise awareness and press G8 leaders to increase aid, cancel debts and make trade fair for the world's poorest countries.
