Clarkson joins NBA legends on USO Tour to Persian Gulf.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Wednesday Jun.8.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Kelly Clarkson is doing her part to boost the morale of US troops stationed in the Persian Gulf region.
The "Since U Been Gone" singer is joining basketball greats Artis Gilmore, Gail Goodrich, Spencer Haywood and Dan Roundfield for a four-day USO Tour to visit soldiers stationed overseas.
While visiting the troops, Clarkson will also perform the National Anthem via satellite before Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, June 12, on ABC.
Clarkson and the NBA legends taking part in the tour will bring along the Larry O'Brien Trophy, which is awarded to the team that captures the NBA championship title. Troops will have the opportunity to pose with the trophy during the "meet and greet" sessions.
Other stars who have made trips for the USO this year include Toby Keith, Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, Gary Sinise, Henry Rollins, Warrick Dunn (Atlanta Falcons), Larry Izzo (New England Patriots), Colin Quinn and Adema.
