Singer invites fans into her life on new album.
NEW YORK, NY [Wednesday Apr.6.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- In what's being billed as the "comeback of the year," Mariah Carey will release her new album "The Emancipation of Mimi," on Tuesday, April 12. In a recent interview with USA Today, Carey explained that 'Mimi' refers to her childhood nickname and says it was "only used by those closest to me." The singer adds, "I am inviting my fans into my life. For the first time, I am proud and unafraid to be who I really am, and that's what the music of this album and its title reflect."
Among the artists helping Carey out on 'Mimi' are The Neptunes, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Nelly and Twista. Jermaine Dupri also helped produced several songs.
