Snow Patrol adds new bassist Paul Wilson to lineup.
LONDON, UK [Monday Apr.4.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- After parting company with founding member and bassist Mark McClelland, Snow Patrol has picked up a new member. According to a March 31, 2005 post on the band's official UK Web site, Paul Wilson, formerly of the Glasgow band Terra Diablo, will take McClelland's place on bass.
The statement reads, "Paul Wilson (formerly of Terra Diablo) has joined the Patrol on bass. He is a multi-instrumentalist and will be a magnificent addition to the band and he's already been heavily involved in the new songs."
Wilson played his first gig with Snow Patrol on April 1st in Dingle, Co Kerry, where the band has been living and working on a new album for the last two months. About the next Snow Patrol release, the band says things are going well and that "we're all writing our a--es off."
Snow Patrol also announced that keyboardist Tom Simpson, who has occasionally played with the group for five years, is now a full member of The Patrol. Snow Patrol will launch a five-week North American tour beginning April 23rd in Woodlands, Texas.
