The Show Goes on For Maroon 5
Adam Levine plays to Texas crowd, despite fractured sternum.

by Krista Desens

Maroon 5
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX  [Wednesday Mar.23.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- There's a saying in the entertainment business that "the show must go on" and last weekend, Maroon 5 took that to heart. At a concert in Grand Prairie, Texas, singer Adam Levine took the stage and told the audience that earlier that day he'd fractured his sternum in an accident backstage. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Levine even lifted his shirt to show the crowd his bandage.

Levine said, "If I can't move around much, I wanted you to know why." The Maroon 5 frontman held his own for about an hour before announcing that he couldn't continue due to the pain. The band finished up the show with a cover of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell."
