LOS ANGELES, CA [Wednesday Feb.23.2005] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Kanye West is busy working on the follow-up to his Grammy-award-winning album, "The College Dropout." The new album will be called "Late Registration" and is set for release later this year.
West says "Late Registration" is about celebrating life and, while West says it's mostly just him writing, producing and rapping on the album, he's teamed up with another Grammy winner, singer-songwriter John Mayer, for a song called "Bittersweet."
West tells MTV, "I'm not just collaborating with people because that's what you're supposed to do, that's what's hot, I just really love John Mayer particularly."
West adds, "A lot of times people collaborate and they won't even listen to the [other artist's] album ... and then you listen to [their] hit single just so you don't look stupid in the studio. But I really do love John Mayer, so it's a perfect fit."
