ST. LOUIS, MO  [Wednesday Jan.12.2005]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Nelly has made a donation of $50,000 to the Martin Luther King Memorial Project Foundation, reports the St. Louis American. The money will go towards building a memorial to Dr. King on the mall in Washington, DC.

Nelly told the paper, "I think anytime you can be in conjunction with a great man such as Dr. King, it's only right."

Around $100 million dollars are needed to build and maintain the Martin Luther King Memorial. About $65 million has already been raised, according to MTV.com.
