Usher, Norah Jones have most shipped albums of 2004.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Wednesday Dec.29.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Usher has reached another milestone in 2004. The Recording Industry Association of America announced that the singer's "Confessions" release was the most-shipped album of the year (that's shipped, not sold). According to MTV.com, 8 million copies of "Confessions" were shipped. The single "Yeah!" also earned a digital platinum certification, with more than 200,000 downloads sold.
Norah Jones' "Feels Like Home" was the most-shipped album for a female artist. Over 4 million copies of Jones' second album were shipped, and the single "Sunrise" received a digital gold award for 100,000 downloads sold.
George Strait was the second most-shipped artist overall. Strait earned a five-times platinum certification for "50 Number Ones."
