LOS ANGELES, CA  [Wednesday Dec.29.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Switchfoot is ready to head back to the studio. In January, the band will begin recording the follow-up to "The Beautiful Letdown," reports MTV.com. Switchfoot is looking to release the new album sometime next summer.

Singer Jon Foreman says, "We've got like 40 songs written. We've been traveling a lot and we've been to different places in the world that we've never been before, so I think that will shape the feel of the music. Maybe a little bit more of an Eastern feel to the songs, a little bit more of a darker record."
