Hoobastank Singer Getting Better
Doug Robb recovering from bronchial pneumonia.

by Krista Desens

Hoobastank
LOS ANGELES, CA  [Monday Dec.27.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- A couple weeks ago, Hoobastank was forced to cancel the six remaining shows on its 2004 US tour, when Doug Robb was diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia, laryngitis and physical exhaustion. Robb's doctor prescribed antibiotics and a week of bed rest for the Hoobstank singer and, though Robb is still on the mend, he's doing better and plans to be back in action in February 2005.

Robb told MTV.com, "We started touring behind 'The Reason' back in October of last year, and I was relatively healthy all the way through August. Not even as much as a cold. Then, in August, we were touring in Southeast Asia, and I got sick. And since then, it's been the most frustrating four months of my life. Because I could never get healthy."

Robb went to the doctor and had some X-rays taken. Said the Hoobastank frontman, "...the doctor looked at them and said, 'You cannot fly. You have bronchial pneumonia and laryngitis and physical exhaustion.'" That's when the band decided to cancel the remaining shows of its tour.

Last Wednesday, Robb felt stronger and was able to do a little Christmas shopping. He said, "I'm still on some heavy antibiotics, but I made myself get out of the house today and get some gifts." Robb also said that Hoobastank will make up the canceled tour dates in February 2005.
