"I make a record that I'm happy with and I feel good about. I put it out there and every time, it's been this amazing bonus that I actually get to continue making a living doing this," said McLachlan. "It's a good way to look at it. You do it for yourself, to please yourself, and I think that's part of the reason I have success because I'm not pandering to other people and giving into what they want. I'm doing what feels right for me. There's a real honesty that's appealing."
