Simon LeBon says the Killers, Franz Ferdinand good bands.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Monday Oct.11.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- In an interview with Newsday, Duran Duran's Simon LeBon had nice words for The Killers and Franz Ferdinand.
When asked what he thought of the current crop of new-wave bands, the Duran Duran singer replied, "The Killers are great. I love the Killers. They write great songs. The same with Franz Ferdinand."
Can LeBon detect Duran Duran's influence over the bands? "Yeah, of course," the singer replied. "I wouldn't say it was just Duran Duran, but we're definitely in their family trees. There's definitely a similar spirit that continues - a sense of wonder....I don't think they expect the same things we did," Le Bon explained. "But they do want to be huge, though," he laughed.
This Tuesday, October 12, Duran Duran releases "Astronaut," the first studio album in 18 years to feature all five original members of Duran Duran.
