PASADENA, CA  [Wednesday Oct.6.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Mike Shinoda is giving something back to the community.

The Pasadena Star-News reports that the Linkin Park member has established the Michael K. Shinoda Endowed Scholarship at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. The scholarship will be awarded based on need to new illustration or graphic design students.

A 1998 graduate of the Art Center, Shinoda recently collaborated with DC Shoes to design a skate shoe. Shinoda will donate 100 percent of the money he makes from the shoe to fund the scholarship, and DC Shoes will also help out by matching Shinoda's contribution dollar for dollar.

The limited edition DC Clientele Remix Shoe features artwork created by the Linkin Park vocalist, who earned his bachelor's degree in illustration. Look for Shinoda's drawings on the shoebox, hangtag and insoles when the shoe comes out in late October.
