HOLLYWOOD, CA  [Thursday Sep.30.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Is Ashlee Simpson a wannabe? No, but she plays one in the upcoming film of the same name.

Ashlee has landed a role in the new movie "Wannabe." She tells MTV, "The movie involves music and actors, and all that kind of stuff. I play an actor, and it's basically about musicians trying to find their way. There's a guy who gets too old to be a musician, and all of us become his fan club. So it's going to be a great movie, and [studio] Lions Gate does edgier films, so it's going to be really exciting."

Ashlee is no stranger to acting. She appeared on the television series "7th Heaven" for two years and also on her own reality show. Ashlee starts shooting "Wannabe" in November.
