Jon Foreman hopes album can be an alarm clock for the soul.
ASBURY PARK, NJ [Tuesday Sep.28.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- In a recent interview with the Asbury Park Press, Switchfoot singer Jon Foreman talked about the themes on the band's latest album, "The Beautiful Letdown." Among those themes is the longing for life's meaning.
Foreman says a "key element of the record is longing." He explains, "It's yearning for something you haven't yet achieved or experienced."
Learning from experiences is also a message running through the album. Says Foreman, "I think...a very important part of the songs is I'm not approaching life as someone who knows it all. I'm learning. I have so much to learn, and I feel like these songs many times are just expressions of that desire and that longing."
Foreman adds, "If this (CD) could be an alarm clock for the soul, that would be great."
