NEW YORK, NY  [Friday Sep.10.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- On September 23, Dido and Wynonna Judd will perform at this year's YouthAIDS Benefit Gala – "Faces of Asia" -- in New York City. The gala raises funds and promotes awareness of the fight against HIV/AIDS in 15 to 24-year-olds in developing countries.

According to YouthAIDS, 12 million young people currently live with HIV/AIDS. The organization works in 70 countries to educate and protect youth from contracting the deadly virus. Actress Ashley Judd will host the event, which takes place at the Capitale grand ballroom.

According to a press release, the annual event also recognizes "individuals and corporations who have made significant strides in the fight against HIV/AIDS." This year, the YouthAIDS organization honors Carlos and Deborah Santana, John Demsey of the M•A•C AIDS FUND and Charles Goldstuck of BMG North America for their work.
