Evanescence Working on Fallen Follow-Up
Evanescence is taking it slow.

by Krista Desens

Evanescence
LOS ANGELES, CA  [Wednesday Aug.11.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Evanescence is currently on tour, but the band is also thinking about its next album. On the band's web site, Amy Lee explains, "We're taking it very slowly. 'Fallen' was a good piece of art but we don't want to make the same record again –- what's the point?" Lee adds, "We want to be inventive and original, like the first one was."

She also sheds light on the group's writing process. "We write separately and will come together soon and start to work together." Lee, who is a classically trained musician, says, "What I bring to the band is the idea and vibe of the romantic-classical-orchestral thing –- the strings, the choir, the ethereal background vocals and the piano. The band brings the rock –- the guitars and drums."

Lee sums up, "Together we create something that's very original."
