NEW YORK, NY  [Monday Jul.19.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Last week, a judge ruled that US civil rights icon Rosa Parks will not be compelled to give a deposition in her lawsuit against OutKast and Arista Records. Parks is suing the rap group and the record company for using her name without permission (and thereby defaming her) and infringing on her trademark rights. OutKast named a song after her on its 1998 "Aquemini" album. The lawsuit goes to trial on January 10, 2005.
