Evanescence singer had backup plan to attend music school.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Thursday Jul.1.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- In an interview with the web site straight.com, Evanescence singer Amy Lee talked about some of her nonmusical interests. Lee told the web site, "I'm an artist, so I have to be doing something artistic. But I've always been really interested in things like pathology and anatomy. I'm just fascinated by that stuff, so I guess if I'd been born tone-deaf with no musical talent I would have ended up going to medical school."
Lee also had a backup plan if the band didn't work out. She told straight.com, "I'd already started preparing for goal number two," she says. "I was going to go to music school and train to either write scores or become a music teacher. I love children, and I love teaching. And just as much, I love choirs and orchestras, so I wanted to learn the basics of all classical instruments so I could move into writing scores for indie films."
