WASHINGTON, D.C. [Thursday May.20.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- On May 27, Jason Mraz brings "The Tour of the Curbside Prophets" to the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. The tour is a special cross-country concert series that showcases individual and intertwining acoustic sets by Mraz and a diverse line-up of supporting artists, set in a "street corner" atmosphere on stage. Mraz is touring to promote his Elektra debut album "Waiting For My Rocket To Come."
Along with the evening's music, Jason Mraz is hosting the 2004 "(Never) Too Much Food" Food Drive. Volunteers will be excepting donations from 5:30 – 8 p.m. the DAR Constitution Hall lobby. Fans can help their local community by bringing non-perishable goods to support Washington, DC's Capital Area Food Bank.
Coordinated by Mraz, Bill Silva Management and several volunteers in local areas, the 2004 "(Never) Too Much Food" Food Drives are being held in select cities nationwide. In 2003, Mraz's food drives gathered almost 10,000 pounds of food nationwide for the less fortunate.
Said Mraz, "I often get asked and even commended about the food drives, and I remind them that it really isn't me who's doing it. It's the [volunteers] beside us and the fans and friends who participate by donating food at our shows."
