by Krista Desens

Avril Lavigne
NEW YORK, NY  [Friday May.14.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Avril Lavigne scored a perfect 10.

The Canadian pop-rock star is part of a worldwide TV-ad campaign to promote the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Lavigne's spot is called "Play," and in the ad the "Don't Tell Me" singer tells us, "All that matters is that you give it everything you've got."

Ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi produced five different spots for the "Celebrate Humanity" Olympic campaign. Along with Lavigne, the spots feature Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, actor Christopher Reeve and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who all donated their time. The ads will run in up to 200 countries.
