DETROIT, MI  [Monday Apr.5.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Outkast took home the Best Band and Best Song for "Hey Ya!" awards at this weekend's 17th annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

"Thank you for inviting us to your award show," said Andre 3000 to sixty zillion screaming kids. "We're having a great time, and it is so great to learn how to read. You have to read, that's it, and count, and all that type of stuff. Stay away from drugs."

Added counterpart Big Boi, "We love you, yeah. And don't forget to tell your parents to get out and vote."

The event, hosted by Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz, was held on Saturday at Los Angeles's Pauley Pavilion.
