Canadians are huge fans of cartoon.
DETROIT, MI [Friday Apr.2.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Members of Canadian band Simple Plan all grew up loving "Scooby-Doo," which was dubbed for television in French.
"We were in Quebec, where people speak French, so we never heard it in English," says guitarist Jeff Stinco when he discovered that Casey Kasem was the voice of Shaggy. "We had our own French TV personalities overdubbing over these people, so we lacked the knowledge of who was doing the real voices."
The band were such fans of the show they submitted a song unasked for inclusion on the soundtrack tot he first "Scooby Doo" movie, and were ecstatic to be asked to record another for the sequel. "Don't Wanna Think About You" is the lead track on the soundtrack to "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed," which was the number one movie opening weekend, grossing $30.7 million.
